The government obliges all playgroups to offer more vve (early childhood education) hours after the summer holidays. In Leiden, this has consequences for the duration of our half-days. All Leiden pre-school playgroups will therefore open longer from 1 September. All children with extra early childhood support will come to the playgroup 16 hours a week.
Vve playgroups in Leiden still closed on Monday 31 August
Monday, August 31, there is a study day for all vve employees in Leiden about the new daily routine for the children. So we start after the summer holidays on Tuesday September 1.
All locations in Noordwijk, Lisse and the locations Ot & Sien, Gouden Poort and ‘t Rozenpoortje in Leiden are already open on Monday 31 August.
New opening hours
For almost everyone in Leiden, the time that your child goes to playgroup will change from 1 September. Almost all pre-school playgroups open after the summer holidays:
from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
Children just keep coming to playgroup on set mornings.
PC Het Gebouw and PC Merenwijk
Het gebouw and Merenwijk will continue to work with morning and afternoon groups. The opening hours are:
from 8:30 am to 11:45 am & from 12:45 pm to 4:00 pm
At PC Het Gebouw and PC Merenwijk, all children with extra early childhood support will from now on also come every Wednesday morning to the playgroup.
Non vve playgroups will remain open as they are now
The opening hours remain the same for a number of playgroups. Because these locations do not work with vve. These are ‘Ot & Sien’ and the anthroposophical locations ‘Gouden Poort’ and ‘t Rozenpoortje’ . The opening hours also remain the same for all locations in Lisse and Noordwijk.
Contracts do not change
All children will come more hours to the playgroup from 1 September. However, existing contracts will not change until December 31. Was your child already in a playgroup before the summer holidays? Then you do not have to pay the extra hours until 1 January.
In November you will be notified about the new rates for 2021 and about a new contract. This new contract, which includes the extra hours, will take effect on 1 January 2021. You do not have to report any changes to the tax authorities until 1 January.
