Our playgroups and toddler care locations are open again regularly from 8 February 2021. Out-of-school care (BSO) is open again since April 19, 2021.

• A distance of 1.5 meters must always be kept between (pedagogical) employees and between (pedagogical) employees / childminders and parents. The spaces at the locations have been adapted to this as well as possible. Where possible, we organize the delivery and collection times in such a way that a distance of 1.5 meters can be kept. Where possible, we work with walking routes and one-way routes and make agreements with parents about delivery and collection times to avoid peak times.
• There is no need to maintain a 1.5 meter distance between children.
• There is no need to maintain a 1.5 meter distance between staff members / childminders and children.
• A distance of 1.5 meters must always be maintained between staff members.

We strongly advise parents and other visitors to wear a mouth-nose mask when entering the location.

Mouth-nose masks in the execution of the pedagogical work are not recommended by the trade association.

Bringing and collecting times are short and children get brought and collected by just one adult. Information about a child is preferably shared digitally or by telephone. We can, however, ask (guest) parents upon arrival whether the child has complaints and whether parent (s) or housemates have complaints.

Always stay at home if you have complaints that are consistent with corona or if you have had contact with someone with corona. The policy for children ages 4 to 12 changed on February 8. Then these children in family quarantine must also stay at home and get tested if they have a cold.

Rules children up to 4 years old

• Are allowed to go to daycare if they have a cold, if they have an occasional cough, or with asthma or hay fever.  But otherwise they stay at home.
• Can be tested for a cold, but must then stay at home until they have the results.
• Stay  at home when you have a fever, shortness of breath or a lot of coughing. Always leave your child testing for more severe complaints .
• Stay at home if a housemate has a fever or shortness of breath in addition to mild corona complaints.
• Stay at home and get tested if a family member has corona.
• Stay at home and get tested like them close contact had with someone with corona.
• Stay at home and get tested if they have had contact on the  day-care  with someone with corona.
• Is your child very ill? Call your doctor.

If a child develops complaints during the day that match COVID-19, they will have to go home. When in doubt, we will talk to parents. For example, with the question whether these are are known (hay fever) complaints or new / unknown complaints for their child. When in doubt, we ask (guest) parents to pick up the child.

Does anyone in the childcare group have corona? Then the GGD advises who should be quarantined. This is often the whole group. Your child must then be quarantined for 10 days and can be tested after 5 days. Is the test result negative? Then your child can go outside again and go to daycare. Your child can also be tested immediately to detect the virus quickly. But if that test is negative, your child must still remain in quarantine and be tested again after 5 days. The GGD will tell you how to make the test appointments and how it works.

The GGD carries out source and contact investigation (BCO) when a child or employee has tested positive for COVID-19. For the smooth running of the BCO, SPL / SJWB has drawn up a step-by-step plan (action perspective). Part of this is that parents are asked to give permission in advance to share contact details with the GGD for the implementation of the BCO. In addition, agreements have been made about communication to parents and employees in the event of infection with COVID-19.

Children must stay at home if:

• • they have no complaints for less than 24 hours. If they have no complaints for more than 24 hours and are not ill in addition to a cold, they are allowed to come to the shelter *, with due observance of the following.
  • someone in the child’s household has a fever (38 ° C or higher) and / or shortness of breath in addition to mild corona complaints. (If someone in the children’s household has tested negative for COVID-19, or if everyone has no complaints for 24 hours, the children can go back to daycare *.)
  • if children are tested and the result is not yet known. In any case, testing of children under the age of 12 is strongly advised if:
    • the complaints do not (only) consist of cold complaints (= runny nose, cold nose, sneezing and / or sore throat) but also if there is a cough, fever and / or shortness of breath), or if you are otherwise seriously ill,
    • the child has corona-related complaints after contact with someone with corona,
    • there is an indication in the context of a source and contact investigation,
    • the child is part of an outbreak investigation.
  • someone in the children’s household has been tested for COVID-19 and has a positive test result. Then the advice of the GGD is leading:
    Children must then remain in quarantine at home up to and including 10 days after the last risk contact with the infected housemate, if there is strict self-isolation (i.e. no risk contact between the infected person and all housemates). If the housemate has tested positive and strict self-isolation is possible, then all other housemates (including children) if they have no complaints themselves may have themselves tested for COVID-19 from the 5th day after the last risk contact with the infected housemate. If the test result is negative, the quarantine period of 10 days does not have to be completed. It is important to remain alert for complaints afterwards and to test again if complaints do develop. If strict self-isolation is not possible, children should remain in quarantine for up to 10 days after the housemate with COVID-19 is released from isolation.
  • children return from a country or an area with an orange or red travel advice due to the corona virus. Then the urgent advice is to go into quarantine for 10 days when you return home. This also applies if the travel advice was changed to orange or red during the trip. For children up to the age of 12, the exception is that they are allowed to go to childcare (daycare, BSO and childminder care), to school and sports *, unless they have corona-related complaints or a housemate who, in addition to (mild) corona complaints, also has fever and / or shortness of breath.

Children are only allowed to return to daycare if they have no complaints for 24 hours and are not ill in addition to having a cold.

Children 12 and under do not need to be tested for corona unless they:

• are seriously ill;
• are roommate or contact of a proven COVID-19 patient;
• are part of an outbreak investigation.

If someone in the child’s household has a fever (38 ° C or higher) and / or shortness of breath in addition to mild corona complaints, the child will stay at home.

If someone in the children’s household has tested negative for COVID-19, or if everyone has no complaints for 24 hours, the children can go back to daycare.

If someone in the household of the children has been tested for COVID-19 and has a positive test result, then the advice of the GGD about the measures to be taken is leading. Children must then remain in quarantine at home up to and including 10 days after the last risk contact with the infected housemate, if there is strict self-isolation (i.e. no risk contact between the infected person and all housemates).
If the housemate has tested positive and strict self-isolation (without risk contact with housemates) is possible, then all other housemates (including children) if they have no complaints themselves may have themselves tested for COVID-19. If the test result is negative, the quarantine period of 10 days does not have to be completed. It is important to remain alert for complaints afterwards and to test again if complaints do develop. If strict self-isolation is not possible, children should remain in quarantine for up to 10 days after the housemate with COVID-19 is released from isolation.

If a child has chronic cold complaints, hay fever or asthma and this is recognizable, the child can go to the daycare after consultation between parent and holder. In case of doubt or if the complaints change, the child must stay at home until the (new) complaints have passed or the known complaint pattern has returned.

We adhere to the general hygiene regulations of the RIVM and we also ask that from the (guest) parents.
This includes:

• Adult keep 1.5 meters away
• Wash hands in accordance with the guidelines, frequently and with soap and water for at least 20 sec.
• Use of tissue paper
• Don’t shake hands
• Coughing / sneezing in the elbow
• Don’t touch the face
• Of course there is plenty of soap and paper towels are provided.
• Materials that staff and children use and the areas that are often touched are cleaned extra often.

If you receive an invoice from us this month, we will ask you to simply pay it, even if we were closed for childcare until February 7, 2021. The childcare allowance will continue to run, and you will receive your own contribution back through the government.

The out-of-school care will also be open again from 19 April. Parents whose children normally use the out-of-school care are also asked to continue to pay the bill of the out-of-school care. For this they receive an allowance that approximates their own contribution. Parents must ensure that their normal data for the childcare allowance are correct with the tax authorities. For example their contract hours or income. They do not have to report changes specifically due to the closure.

We always do our utmost to open BSOs during strike days. However, this is not standard.

Therefore, always assume that strike days arenottaken care of. We will always let you know as soon as possible when the out-of-school care facility opens extra.

Pedagogical staff cannot make changes to the system.

We plan our study days on Wednesday afternoon. As a result, it only affects the opening of BSOs.

SPL / SJWB close out-of-school care no more than once a year for a study day for pedagogical employees. We will let you know at least three months in advance.

Yes, the out-of-school care facility is open all day on most study days of the affiliated school. Your contract includes two study days per school year.

We are closed on officially recognized holidays. On all other days, the locations open with a minimum of four children present on one day.

The pedagogical employees will of course receive their salary on these days. The government has already calculated your childcare allowance on this.

At the playgroups of SPL we work with fixed groups, which gives each child peace of mind. It is therefore not possible to exchange the standard days.

Is your child in toddler care Morgenster or ‘t Wakertje from SJWB? Then exchange is possible up to 6 times a year. You can make a request for this via Kindplanner or the customer service .

It is never possible to exchange officially recognized holidays.

It is not possible to purchase or exchange an extra, incidental part of the day at the playgroups in Leiden.

Fixed groups are important to children. A fixed group offers them safety and clarity and ensures continuity. Fixed groups are also a condition for offering good VVE to the groups. The pedagogical employees tailor their efforts to the children who are present in the groups on the different days. This way we can offer parents good care to the groups.

An exception to this is the Gouden Poort toddler care facility in Leiden. Here, it is possible to purchase extra incidental half-days and exchange days. This also applies to our playgroups and toddler care in Lisse and Noordwijk.

The placement agreement continues until the day your child turns 4 or the day before your child turns 13. Even if this day is during a school holiday. And as long as the placement agreement is in effect, you will receive an invoice from us.

By the way, all school holidays are of course included in our price.

The placement agreement that you have concluded with us for a playgroup or toddler care facility automatically expires on the day before your child turns 4. You do not have to cancel the agreement.

The placement agreement that you have concluded with us for out-of-school care automatically expires on the day before your child turns 13. You do not have to cancel this agreement either.

Cancellation of the agreement is certainly not mandatory. And if you want to be sure of a place for your child when it returns, you better keep the place. We cannot guarantee that there will still be places at the location of your choice by the time you return. You and your child may then be put on the waiting list again.

If you want to cancel the agreement, a   notice period of one month is applicable. Cancellation must be done in writing and can be sent by e-mail to klantenservice@splopvang.nl , or by letter to Rooseveltstraat 12, 2321 BM Leiden. 

The cancellation period starts on the day of receipt of your cancellation.

The school holidays and all public holidays of our locations are included in the price. This means you pay the same amount every month.

The price of our playgroups and toddler care is calculated at 40 weeks per year, so without the 12 weeks holiday, but divided over 12 months.

You will therefore also receive an invoice during the holidays.

If you have a low income (and, in the case of toddler care or out-of-school care, you do not qualify for a childcare allowance), you can apply for special assistance from your municipality. The amount of this allowance depends on your income and assets.

In the municipality of Leiden you can here apply for special assistance.

In the Bollenstreek you can here apply for special assistance.

As a parent, you must pay a parental contribution for a subsidized place in a playgroup. This parental contribution is determined by us on the basis of 3 consecutive monthly salary or benefit slips or your aggregate income via a final tax assessment or income statement.  A gross income is the basis, including bonus, 13th month, year-end bonus and holiday allowance. If you work a lot of overtime, we will include the average. In the Parental Contribution Table (see prices ) you can get an indication of the amount to be paid monthly.

If your contribution is higher than you expected, it may be the case that we have not received your income data, or we have not received it completely. You are then placed in the highest category of the Parental Contribution Table. Please ensure that we receive your complete income details. In the month after receipt of your income data, the invoice will be adjusted.

If you do not agree with the income that we have determined, you can contact our customer service on 088 3043043 or klantenservice@splopvang.nl .

In that case we would like to receive the most recent final income tax assessment, or an overview or statement from an accountant or bookkeeper.

We determine your parental contribution once when your child is placed in a playgroup, toddler care or after school care. You then pay this parental contribution until the end date of the placement, usually when your child turns 4 (in the case of a playgroup or toddler care center) or 13 years (in the case of out-of-school care).

Only if a second or subsequent child of yours is placed with us, we will re-determine your monthly income and parental contribution, and this will also apply to your first child from that moment.

This parental contribution is determined by us on the basis of 3 consecutive monthly salary or benefit slips or your aggregate income via a final tax assessment or income statement.  

The basis is your gross income, including bonus, 13th month, year-end bonus and holiday allowance. If you work a lot of overtime, we will include the average. In the Parental Contribution Table (see prices ) you can get an indication of the amount to be paid monthly.

Whether you are eligible for a subsidized place depends on whether you are on benefits or whether you are a one- or two-earner.

If you are not working and you are on benefits or if you are a single earner, it is possible to get a subsidized position. This applies to all our playgroups in Leiden, Lisse and Noordwijk.

If you are a dual earner, you are eligible for childcare allowance and you can not get a subsidized place.

Only toddler care center Gouden Poort in Leiden has no subsidized places; parents who are entitled to childcare allowance can purchase a place for their child (ren) here.

Did you choose one   location that does have a waiting list (because it is closest to you, for example), then it is difficult for us to estimate when your child will be next. Waiting lists vary in length, depending on the location, the age of your child, the age of the other children in the group and on the waiting list, and the days of your preference.

And our priority rules also affect the waiting lists at our locations:

1. Socio-Medical Indication: children whose development is threatened are placed at the top of the waiting list.
2. Change of days, group or location, or extension of the place: if parents of already placed children, for whatever reason, would like to exchange a day, group or location, or extend the place with an extra day, they will receive priority on new customers / children.
3. Second children or subsequent children: if the parents of an already placed child have a second child (or more), we will give this child / these children priority, provided the first child is still in the playgroup.
4. Children participating in JES Rijnland programs.
5. Completely new placement: if there are no priority children on the waiting list, children from the regular waiting list will be placed. The desired start date and registration date then determine the order on that waiting list.

Due to all these factors, it is difficult for us to give an indication of your waiting time.

Almost all dual-income households and single working parents (and some benefit recipients) are eligible for Childcare Allowance.

You can check whether you are entitled to childcare allowance on the website of the tax authorities .

It depends on:

• in which municipality you live
• which location you choose
• the number of days desired
• your income
• whether you entitled to childcare allowance .

You can register your child from birth without obligation through our website. This registration does not oblige you to anything. Your child will be put on the waiting list at the location (s) and half-days of your choice at the age of 1 (registration date).

If your preference for location (s) and / or day parts change, you can log in with the password obtained when registering via the parent login on our website and adjust this.

After registering via our website, you will automatically receive a confirmation by e-mail. The planning and placement at our locations is done centrally by the customer service employees.

As soon as the customer service representative can make you a placement offer, she will contact you by telephone and / or e-mail. Please make sure that your telephone number (s) and e-mail address are correct.
